Target Audience: Consultants new to the supervision role; SAS Doctors and Senior Trainees approaching CCT.
This course is not suitable for experienced supervisors.
This is an essential course for all new supervisors or for senior trainees aiming to become supervisors. It covers all the Academy of Medical Educators’ Trainer standards. It equips you with the knowledge and skills you need to begin your supervision role and covers your CPD in non-clinical skills for 3 years.

Learning Outcomes:
- Explore the NHS bigger pictures and determine why it's relevant to the role
- State the importance of formative and summative assessments
- Explain components of a quality supervisory report
- Discuss a trainee-led feedback discussion and apply feedback skills

- Explain the escalation process and identify local support
- Reflect upon current practice and identify opportunities for development
