Clinical Research in the NHS Programme - Wednesday 25th September to Thursday 26th September 2019

This is a 2 day programme, aimed at giving participants a greater understanding of basic research skills and how to develop those skills further, as well as a better understanding of the Clinical Research Network and how research happens in the NHS.

Learning Outcomes:

The programme will allow you to-

  1. Describe quantitative & qualitative research methodologies
  2. Develop an understanding of how critical appraisal skills can improve practice
  3. Appreciate how statistics should be used and can be abused
  4. Recognise how research writing and presenting skills can be developed
  5. Consider future options for developing research skills
  6. Describe the network and its external environment
  7. Develop an understanding of how research is delivered in the NHS
  8. Consider future options for developing a career in clinical research within the NHS
  9. Provide evidence towards curriculum research competency
