This workshop is designed to equip participants with the key knowledge and skills required to perform effective mentorship. Building on the knowledge gained from the e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) ‘Medical Mentoring’ programme, this workshop will support discussion around your experience of mentoring and provide the opportunity to apply mentorship frameworks as a mentor in a supportive environment.

In order to achieve the course learning objectives, the completion of the e-LfH ‘Medical Mentoring’ programme is required:-

This free e-learning module takes 1 hour to complete.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Define mentorship and differentiate between other support processes
  2. Identify existing skills and behaviours which align to the role of a mentor 
  3. Review mentoring and coaching models to use as a framework for supportive conversations 
  4. Consider boundaries and support available
  5. Improve confidence in applying mentoring frameworks through small group working
  6. Facilitate a process of constructive feedback

Completion of the e-LfH ‘Medical Mentoring’ programme and the Mentoring Skills Workshop will enable the participant to enrol in the North East Mentorship Scheme (NEMS).
