International Medical Graduates (IMGs) make a significant contribution to the NHS workforce, yet they often face unique challenges integrating into the system. To bridge this gap and optimise their onboarding journey, we propose the development of a comprehensive virtual education series tailored to the specific needs of IMGs joining the NHS.
Series Description:
· Format: Online modules delivered through a user-friendly platform (Teams)
· Duration: 6 months (October 25 - March 26)
· Format: 90 minutes sessions

Learning Outcomes:
Key features:
o Interactive learning: Case studies, quizzes, simulations, and discussions to enhance engagement and knowledge retention.
o Expert-led modules: Delivery by NHS practitioners and medical educators both IMGs and non-IMGs with in-depth knowledge and experience.
o Peer-to-peer support: Virtual forums and discussion groups for sharing experiences, asking questions, and building a sense of community.
· NHS Structure and Functioning: Understanding the organisational framework, Governance, GMC regulation, referral pathways, and administrative processes.
· Clinical Practice in the UK: Adapting to UK-specific protocols, guidelines, and diagnostic/investigative approaches.
· Communication and Cultural Nuances: Mastering effective communication with patients, colleagues, and within the broader healthcare system.
· Legal and Ethical Frameworks: Familiarity with NHS consent procedures, confidentiality regulations, Death certification and medico-legal responsibilities.
· Professional Development and Support: Navigating career progression opportunities, accessing mentorship resources, portfolio, curriculum and building professional networks.
