Supporting Doctors New to the NHS - A virtual Bootcamp to Empower IMGs for Success
International Medical Graduates (IMGs) make a significant contribution
to the NHS workforce, yet they often face unique challenges integrating into
the system. To bridge this gap and optimise their onboarding journey, we
propose the development of a comprehensive virtual education series tailored to
the specific needs of IMGs joining the NHS.
Series Description:
· Format: Online modules delivered through a user-friendly platform such as Teams or Zoom

Duration: 6 months (February to July 2024)
·
Format: 90 minutes
session covering 2 topics.

Key features:
o Interactive
learning: Case studies, quizzes, simulations, and discussions to enhance engagement
and knowledge retention.
o Expert-led
modules: Delivery by NHS practitioners and medical educators both IMGs and
non-IMGs with in-depth knowledge and experience.
o Peer-to-peer
support: Virtual forums and discussion groups for sharing experiences, asking
questions, and building a sense of community.
