Mindfulness Workshop for Wellbeing

Mindfulness is a scientifically evidenced way of supporting well-being and handling pressure in a positive way, so reducing stress. This workshop is designed to help you understand mindfulness, and to learn how it can boost focus, performance, interpersonal relationships, and improve sleep. We will also discuss how it can be used to benefit the mental health of patients, and the background and scientific evidence behind it.

You will have the opportunity to try out some optional short meditations that will cover gentle exercise for the mind ‘muscle’, a way of strengthening concentration, as well as a techniques for finding deeper relaxation in both mind and body. We will explore some general well-being techniques and reflect on how these can be effectively combined with mindfulness and incorporated into a busy schedule.

Cautions /Contraindications: whilst suitable for most people, meditation is contraindicated for anyone with a history of psychosis, for example schizophrenia. This workshop is not suitable if you are currently suffering from a severe mental illness, have significant suicidal thoughts or have had a recent seriously traumatic experience. Meditation may not be suitable for some people with epilepsy so please contact me ahead of the session if relevant to you. If you have asthma bring an inhaler just in case; let me know if it is poorly controlled as I include some gentle breath work but can widen the range of alternatives that I offer.

If you have any uncertainty about participating, please feel free to contact me, in confidence at
