Cultural Safety - Train the Trainer
The NHS is renowned for its diversity, with a workforce representing over 200 countries, each contributing unique cultural perspectives to healthcare delivery. However, navigating these differences in learning, communication, and teamwork can pose challenges in fostering inclusive and cohesive teams.
To address this, the NHS Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Improvement Plan highlights the importance of creating a sense of belonging for all staff, especially those trained overseas who are new to the NHS. As part of this effort, six High-Impact Actions (HIAs) have been introduced to dismantle barriers caused by intersecting identities and inequalities.
This Train-the-Trainer workshop is specifically designed to empower participants to become cultural safety champions within their organizations. Through this program, attendees will:
Develop self-awareness of their own cultural preferences.
Gain practical skills to navigate and resolve cultural differences effectively.
Learn evidence-based strategies to foster cultural inclusion within diverse teams.
The aim of this workshop is for participants to acquire the knowledge and tools needed to train others, enabling them to cascade these skills throughout their organisations and promote a culture of cultural safety and respect across the NHS.
